Professor Hubert Kroisamer was born in Austria.
In addition to studying violin in Linz and later in Vienna, he studied Music Education and German studies.
As a young student he won 1st prize at the Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition.
In 1980 he became a member of the Vienna Philharmonic and has held a leading violin position since 1982.
In addition to his engagement with the Vienna Philharmonic, he works as a sought-after chamber musician in numerous chamber ensembles, among others as a concert master of the Vienna String Soloists and of the Hofmusikkapelle Vienna, as a member of the Trio Contrast, the Vienna String Quartet and the New Vienna Octet. As a soloist, he played numerous concerts in Europe and Asia.
From 1995 to 2000 he taught at the University of Music and Art in Graz. Professor Hubert Kroisamer is currently teaching at the Vienna University of Music and at the international Pacific Music Festival founded by L. Bernstein.
